A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Functional Prototype
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Appearance Prototype
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Design Prototype
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Production Prototype
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.

These photos and videos provide a detailed look at this project’s development.
Ever since Bertha Berman invented the fitted sheet 60 years ago, almost nothing has changed. Meet Squasheet, the future of fitted sheet
Squasheet is a fitted sheet stitched to a throw pillow case. Instead of trying to fold the fitted sheet, you just squash it inside the case and in less than 30 seconds it becomes a beautiful decorative throw pillow which you can use on your bed, sofa or just store in your closet. Genius!
And wait, there's more. The pillow case becomes a bed-side pocket to put your stuff in.
Squasheet is best when it comes to saving time, suited for your busy lifestyle. This is why we have chosen to use advanced textile technology for the sheet's fabric so your sheet will wash and dry fast, last longer and have that great silky smooth feeling that will let you sleep better.
We are now ready for mass production. We have designed two great graphic patterns for the pillow.
One for the larger sizes (King/Queen) and one for the smaller
ones (Full/ Twin). All Squasheet models arrive with a sheet in matching solid light color so your Squasheet will look
great both as a pillow and as a sheet on your bed.
My name is Diana, and apart from being an artist, i’m also married to Nir and a mother to 5 kids. This means laundry, a lot of laundry. Over the years I have noticed that one of the most problematic, time consuming items to fold is the fitted sheet. Yes, there are many videos out there showing you all kind of methods and tricks on how to fold it but none of them are really practical, especially when all you want is just to finish folding your laundry and move on to more important stuff! And then one day it hit me: Instead of wasting all that time trying to carefully fold the sheet, why not just squash it inside its own case which is stitched to the sheet? This not only solves the folding problem, but adds a few more great advantages like having a bed-side pocket and also a throw pillow to store the sheet in, keeping it fresh and clean. If you like to fold your sheets or even iron them, you can easily do it with Squasheet as well and enjoy having your sheets neatly organized in your closet, keeping them smelling fresh and dust free.
We have decided to run this campaign since we believe that trying to fold a fitted sheet is a very common problem and because we think that Squasheet is a real practical and affordable solution.
We have already done our homework. During the last two years we have been busy prototyping Squasheet. We have made more than 13(!) prototypes from which we have learned a lot. We have also located a factory in the far east to produce Squasheet and have been working closely with them. They have already sent us final samples which we have approved. Their production time for Squasheet is two months which means we will start shipping your rewards in about three months from the day the campaign ends!
Our manufacturing partner is an established business located in the Jiangsu province in China. They have been in the bedding textile business for over 20 years now and have helped us a lot during the development process. We will be visiting them once the campaign is over to close all the final production details.
We are now ready for mass production and need your help. We will be glad if you back us so we can reach our goal of producing Squasheet. Thank you!
Our vision for Squasheet is wide and far reaching. If this campaign gets funded, we plan to expand our line of products to include pillow & duvet covers, expand our bed sizes offering and also roll out many other graphical designs for the pillow case. We will keep exploring new and advanced materials and implement them into our products.
Squasheet is patent pending.
Risks and challenges
Yes, it is true - this is our first time producing a textile based product in the far east. It is also my (Diana's) first campaign. On the other hand, I got a great, experienced team behind me and this is the project of our lives! We have been waiting so long to do this and want it to succeed so bad that we will do our best to make it work for you and for us.
But it's not just that. The simple fact is that we have only approached crowdfunding once we knew we had a solid design ready to be manufactured so the risks here are actually very low. The factory is standing by, waiting for us to just confirm the quantity for each size and they are on their way. We will be shipping from a centralized warehouse based in the US so you will receive your reward to your doorstep using ground shipping with no hassle or custom clearing!
